The state of New Jersey as of July 1 reached a total population of 7,413,680. a growth of 220,875 since July 1970. Labor commissioner Joseph A. Hoffman said the figures show a slowdown in New Jersey's population growth has been occuring over a period of time. Population changes in Morris County by municipality are: Figures released by the state Department of Labor and Industry put Morris County's population last July 1, at 403.395, an increase of 18,250 over the 1970 census.

Morristown is the only local community to continue showing a decrease in population, down 40 persons to 17,655. Mount Olive marked the greatest increase of 2,925, to a 13,460 total, surpassing the rise of Par Obituaries Pillion nyan, N.Y.; and 12 grandchildren. Ilona A. Croft, Midd-leburg, a sister, Mrs. Emma Broks, Latvia, and a granddaughter. Services will be 8 p.m. tomorrow at the Cochran Funeral Home.

Marie E. Kaiser, 69, Route 46. Ledgewood. died at home yesterday following a short illness. Born in Plainfield.

she lived here for the last 20 years. Survivors include her husband. Vincent a son, George Randolph: a daughter, Mrs. Marie Ginber, Mine Hill, and six grandchildren. Services will be 9 a.m.

Snyder INDEPENDENCE TWP. -George Wesley Snyder. 71, Water Street, 'died Monday at the Hackettstown Community Hospital after a long illness. Born in Mansfield Township, he was a lifelong resident of this area. He was an iron molder, and retired six years ago from the Bartley Foundry, Bartley.

Surviving are his wife, Minnie Walters Snyder; four sons, Lester, Hackettstown, John and Robert. Vienna, and Richard, Dover; three daughters, Mrs. George Dorcas and Mrs. Robert Frankenfield, both of Vienna, and Mrs. Frank Kowalick, Hackettstown; four brothers, Frank, Morris Plains.

Harry, Dover. Ernest, Morristown, and Joseph, Stanhope; a sister, Mrs.Mary Lacey, Frenchtown: and 23 grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Cochran Funeral Home. 905 High Hackettstown.

Mrs. Mary Toth WHARTON Mrs. Mary Toth, 83. 30 Thomas died yesterday at Dover General Hospital after a long illness. Born in Hungary, she came to the United States in 1906 and has lived here most of her life.

She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Wharton and its Ladies Aid Society. She is survived by a son, Joseph, and two daughters, Mrs. Mary Adams (with whom she lived) and Mrs. Helen Pokluda, all of Wharton; four grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. The funeral will be 1:15 p.m.

The cut just the beginning, Gratacos asserted, unless the municipality gets additional state aid includes reduction of health and public safety programs. He said $2,700 was cut from the budget's $3,900 health program, eliminating all services except those for dog catching. and rabies in-noculation. A planned additional shift for the part-time police force, which would have cost $7,000, was also eliminated, he said. Local police currently work 7-11 p.m.

Dally Record i MORRISTOWN A county-wide alert has been issued for a suspect police believe abducted and assaulted a Dover woman here Monday night. Police said the man, in his early twenties, struck Mrs. Patricia Fauci, 44 Center Grove Road, after abducting her in her own car in the parking lot, Morris Street, shortly after 8:15 p.m. Following an altercation on Whippany Road with Mrs.

Mrs. Esther C. Pillion, 60, 16 Oak Cedar Knolls, died Monday at Riverside Hospital, Boonton Township, after a long illness. Born in Van Buren, N.Y., she lived here 42 years. She was employed by Transistor Devices Cedar Knolls.

Surviving are three sons, James F. Denville, David Morris-town, and Dennis Flanders: a daughter, Mrs. Susan Lippert, Howell Township; a brother, Henry Conway, Flushing, Long Island; a sister, Mrs. Lucy Christensen, Pen- Raymond J. Marshall MANSFIELD TWP.

Raymond J. Marshall. 55. Route 57. was dead on arrival yesterday at Dover General Hospital.

He had had a heart attack while working at Westinghouse Dover. Born in Clifton, he moved here 13 years ago from Goldsboro, N.C. He was a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1962. He was presently employed as an assemblyman at Westinghouse.

Surviving are his wife. Audrey Merboth Marshall; three sons, Raymond Edward and Kenneth, all of Mansfield Township: four daughters, Mrs. Patricia Tivnan. Ballina, Ireland. Miss Catherine Marshall, Vineland, Miss Deborah.

Glassboro, and Miss Diane Marshall. Mansfield Township; and two brothers, Elias, Hackettstown. and William, Winter Park. Fla. Services will be 9:45 a.m.

Fauci to drive around town for an unknown length of time, police said. The scar-faced assailant instructed his victim to pull around the rear of the Allied Chemical building, Whippany Road.
